JAMB’s CBT will reduce exam malpractice - Registrar

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Tuesday said that the introduction of Computer-Based Test (CBT) in its examinations would curb examination malpractice.

Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, JAMB’s Registrar, said this in Ondo at the first technical meeting of the board on 2013/2014 admission to Nigeria National Diploma and National Innovative Diploma awarding institutions.

The meeting took place at Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo.

Also JAMB has commenced the inspection of schools which would be used as CBT centres in the state.

Ojerinde said that CBT was also a way of making the candidates to be ICT-compliant.
He said that CBT would make the results of any examination conducted by JAMB to be ready within a week.

“We have gone digital in JAMB. What we are going to do now is to make use of computers and within a week, the results will be on the Internet.

“Unlike before when we were using the analogue style; the new scheme will stop malpractice,” he said.

Ojerinde, however, noted that everybody now wanted to go to the university to obtain degrees, adding: “Obtaining a degree is not the only way to make it to the top.

“We are encouraging as many people as possible to develop interest in technical education and entrepreneurial education,” he said.

Also speaking, Prof. Adeyemi Idowu, the Provost, Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, lauded JAMB for devising strategies to curb examination malpractice through the introduction of CBT.

“The recent introduction of computer-based examination is one giant stride which I believe, as time goes on, will drastically reduce the spate of examination malpractice,” he added.

In his remark, Prof. Femi Mimiko, the Vice-Chancellor, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, said that the introduction of CBT by JAMB would make Nigerians to be ICT-compliant.

“Ojerinde’s tenure has brought about an uncommon transformation in JAMB; it gives hope that Nigeria has ability to transform itself,’’ he said. (NAN)

UNIJOS Post Direct Entry Screening for 2013/2014 Holds September 30th

The University of Jos DE Screening Exercise for 2013/2014 Academic Session shall take place from Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Multi-Purpose Auditorium, Bauchi Road
Campus, Jos, by 9:00 a.m.

Only Candidate who applied through JAMB for DE Admission and chose University of Jos as their First Choice are eligible for the Screening Exercise please.

The Candidate must come along with their entry qualifications as advertised in the 2013 JAMB brochure.

Only candidate with evidence of payment of the screening fee of N2,000.00 only shall participate in the exercise. All payments must be made online using MasterCard or Verve

University of Uyo-Uniuyo 2013/2014 Post UTME Screening Update

Information reaching the ExamsGuru Team revealed that the University of Uyo-UNIUYO 2013/2014 Post Direct Entry-DE Exam Date has been scheduled.

Candidates who applied to the University of Uyo as their 1st choice University for the 2013/2014 Direct Entry Admission are hereby informed that the Screening Test will take place as follows:

University of Uyo-UNIUYO 2013/2014 Post Direct Entry-DE Exam Date

REQUIREMENTS
Eligible candidates are expected to possess a minimum number of five (5) credit passes in their SSCE or equivalent in the subjects relevant to the programmes of their 1st choice including English Language and Mathematics. They should in addition, have OND, NCE, HND, GCE A/L or a first Degree. Admission will be conducted into the following Faculties:
1. Faculty of Agriculture
2. Faculty of Arts
3. Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences
4. Faculty of Business Administration
5. Faculty of Clinical Science
6. Faculty of Education
7. Faculty of Engineering
8. Faculty of Environmental Studies
9. Faculty of Law

12. Faculty of Social Sciences
Candidates must ensure that they had registered online with JAMB. Please note that
candidates whose names are not found in the 2013/2014 Direct Entry JAMB printout will
NOT be allowed into the Screening Venue.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
Eligible candidates should pay the sum of N2,000.00 (two thousand naira) only, and obtain a PIN Transaction Receipt which should contain a PIN code at the following Banks:

2. Skye Bank
3. Wema Bank Plc.

How to Register Uniuyo 2013/2014 Post Direct Entry-DE Examination
Like I earlier stressed during the Post UME Exams, you should go to an authorized online registrar to register your exams to avoid problems and errors.
If you are in Uyo, go to ExamsGuru Trusted Agent at No 37 Ikpa Road, Uyo, opposite UNIUYO to process the form.
If you are not in Uyo and you want to purchase the PIN,  No problem, just call our trusted agent in Uyo (Ifiokobong Ibanga) and follow the following procedures:

1. Call him thro: 08026529647
2. Tell him to send his account number to you
3. Pay three thousand naira (N3000) to his account number
4. Send your Jamb Number to his phone number
5. He will process the PIN and send it back for you through SMS. You can then go ahead to Uniuyo website to complete the form.

If you want him to process the PIN and register you, Follow these instructions:

6. Pay four thousand naira (N4000) to his account number
7. Send your Jamb Number, your SSCE result, Your RED BACKGROUND Passport to his email address mail4ifiokobong@gmail.com
8. He will process the registration for you

If you are sure that you will not make mistake, follow the following instructions:
(1) With the PIN Code, candidates should access and complete the
University of Uyo 2013 Direct Entry (D/E) Screening Test Form online at
http://www.uniuyo.edu.ng from the students E-Portals Solution Menu applying
the following steps:
- Click on Direct Entry Portal Link
- Log in with your Direct Entry registration Number and PIN Code.
- Fill the Direct Entry form and upload a recent passport size photograph
(scanned) with red background.
- Submit the online application form and print out a copy of the examination
schedule slip.

Note: (i) The same passport photograph used for the online
registration will be used during the Screening Test and for
registration in the Faculty after offer of admission.
(ii) No complaint of wrong bio-data or blank photograph will
be entertained after submission.
(iii) Candidates who up-load wrong bio-data will be
automatically disqualified.

Candidates are also required to appear for the Direct Entry Screening
Test with the following items:
(i) Four (4) copies of the University of Uyo 2013 Direct Entry ONLINE
registration form duly completed with the passport-size
photograph printed in colour.
(ii) 2013 Direct Entry Registration Slip.
(iii) Four (4) recent passport-size photographs on red background
(same photograph as the one used for the on-line registration) with
the name, Direct Entry registration number and signature of the
candidate written on the reverse side of the photographs. These
should be packaged in quarto- size envelope and labeled with
name, course, department and JAMB registration number.
(iv) HB pencil, eraser and sharpener.

NOTE: No GSM handsets, calculators or any other extraneous materials should be
brought into the Screening Hall.

Venue: The Screening Test will hold at the University of Uyo,
Town Campus and Town Campus Annexe.
Closing Date: The closing date for registration is Wednesday, October 09, 2013
Note: Only candidates who comply with the registration procedures outlined above will be
allowed to undergo the Screening Test.
