Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue state has said that the over four month ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of University ASUU has a political undertone to discredit President Goodluck Jonathan.
Insisting that the NEED Assessment Committee released over a N100 billion to Federal and state University for project development, the Academic Staff Union of University ASUU has denied knowledge of the disbursement of the sum to 59 public universities in the country.
Chairman of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi branch of ASUU, Dr. Celestine Aguoru, had while leading members of the branch on a peaceful match around Makurdi town in protest of the lingering Federal government/ASUU face off accused Suswam Committee of insensitivity to the Union's call.
But in a swift reaction to Aguoru, the Benue State Governor insisted most Universities have received the fund through due process.
